The projects below are run by Asociația Mereu pentru Europa, the association that hosts the Europe Direct Craiova centre. They are separate from the information centre’s own activity and are funded under different programmes. We publish them here because they show concretely where European money lands in Dolj and in Oltenia.

ROCCAS 4 SVO

Colorectal cancer screening across the five counties of South-West Oltenia. Early detection changes the odds of treatment completely, and testing is free for people in the target age group.
LIVERO

Screening for chronic liver disease. Many of these conditions develop for years without symptoms, and a simple test can catch them in time.
Implementation period: December 2024 – November 2029.
DIGI4Dolj
SMIS code: 333973 · Funding: Education and Employment Programme
Digital skills training for employees in retail and healthcare. The project target is 610 participants from Dolj county.
EDUDOLJ

Vocational training for 310 people without a recognised qualification, from Dolj county.
ANGLE

Inclusive education for 200 Roma pupils and training for 60 teachers.
Implementation period: November 2025 – October 2028.
ARIPI
SMIS code: 348275 · Funding: Education and Employment Programme, European Social Fund Plus
Support for vocational and technical education pupils at risk of dropping out. 180 pupils receive a monthly grant of 300 lei plus meals, accommodation and transport; 215 pupils join remedial programmes in reading, mathematics and science; 30 teachers are trained in inclusive methods; 96 parents take part in „parents’ school” workshops.
The association is the lead partner, working with UCECOM “Spiru Haret” Technological High School in Craiova. Implementation period: September 2026 – August 2029.
COMPAS
SMIS code: 325402 · Funding: Education and Employment Programme, European Social Fund Plus
Support for young people from families with no university tradition: 176 pupils at risk of school failure and 176 “first student in the family” undergraduates receive counselling, remedial programmes and peer support groups.
The association is a partner; the lead is the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova. Implementation period: February 2025 – January 2028.
